February 2026 movie/music/links recap
Movie
Spectre (2015)
Mexican yellow filter, really?
I'm really enjoying this Moneypenny, Q and M, too; it was nice to see them that much on screen! Christopher waltz was good but underused, though.
The "I love you" line literally made me go "oh my god fuck off". The worst thing about Craig's Bond movies definitely is the romances, I really don't enjoy them. I don't know, they tried to make it serious but it just looks bad, and even worse than the other Bonds.
Yeah, I don't really have much to say, it was on okay-ish bond that got some really boring moments.
No Time To Die (2021)
Sorry but I hate Seydoux's performance in those 2 movies. I really dont like her character, she seems... flat? Yeah. On the other hand, Ana de Armas is such a wrecking nerve mess of a babe, and she should have the main bond girl role! But I love that actress, I can't be objective with her lol
I felt bad how Felix died, he was such a good character when he was on screen! Wright played him so well. Rami Malek was good in his role but his character was badly written.
Like the last movie, I really really enjoyed seeing so much of the supporting characters, and the new 007 was pretty cool! It was a good idea to push more of the supporting cast on screen.
I didn't really enjoy the whole "DNA can do everything" trope, it'such a vague plot device that allows for anything. (I'm sorry but Metal Gear Solid did it better)
But overall a nice end for Craig's era! I ended up watching his movies pretty quickly, it was a nice change after the last ones of Brosnan's. Can't wait to see what Villeneuve will do next, whenever it'll come out!
Entergalactic (2022)
The animation, the visuals, just 💯 ; Mr. Rager's animated moments were really cool!
The romance was okay, even if the whole thing felt organic, there's the usual drama in the middle of it that could have been done differently that made it a bit mid. But the characters' relationships save that little negative point for me, it was really cool to watch Jabari's and Meadow's friendships with the other characters.
Anyway, the artistry of the whole thing, be it the visual direction, animation or music, makes at the very least the whole movie worth watching if you just like to watch good art made by great people. It's just nice!
(and fuck Netflix for not continuing this thing, as always)
Music
As usual, the few albums I liked from 1001 Albums:
- Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl ; Tracey Thorne has such a great voice
- ln The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
- Cross by Justice ; Been a while since I last listened to this album! Almost back in my teenage years ahah
- Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols by Sex Pistols
- Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Youtube
Proxidist+ is, well, Proxidist's second channel, where he often posts short-ish reviews of games or opinions; I like how he presents stuff, talks about what he likes, and the recurrent praises for his favorite game, The Evil Within.
Blass Can't Speak is a small channel mostly about horror; it's pretty chill!
GAKHED posts lovely videos of their pets made with an old camera, and with some really nice chill music in the background. Definitely recommend if you want to feel at peace for a little while :)
Thinky Games is the channel of the awesome site https://thinkygames.com/, dedicated to puzzle games! They also opened their daily games to everyone this week, you should check it out!
