Video games log 002 (Adventure, detectives, cats and pixels)

I had a week of vacation where I really needed to not think about work, so I manage to finish quite a few little games.

What I finished

Crime O'Clock
A hidden objects/where's Waldo game, you are a detective dealing with time travels.
The story is fine, I found myself getting bored with it but it is serviceable. The visuals are pretty cool! I really like the art style, and the devs managed to make each map buzzing with characters. I ended up doing the Fulcrum side quests (where you follow a set of characters (easter eggs) at every point of time) after the end of the main story and I loved that part.

Luna's Fishing Garden
A casual 2D fishing game, a young girl finds herself lost on a magic island after a storm, and helps out its inhabitants.
Cute little game! It's a pretty relaxing one, nothing too challenging. The art is delightful.

Duck Detective: The Secret Salami
A whodunit where a duck detective find himself on a bigger case than he thought at first.
Good game, I loved the style and humor! Gameplay wise, it's pretty well paced, you collect clues quickly enough to make your little deducktions and advance the story.
The only negative point I would make would be about these deductions, though it is a tiny criticism: you unlock names/things/verbs to fill out blanks in a bunch of sentences, and I sometimes found myself kinda brute forcing a couple of answers because I had some trouble getting into the good mindset, even though I guessed the facts pretty well. (But maybe that's just the fact that english isn't my main language, i don't know.)

A Tower Full of Cats
It's a good old hidden objects (well, cats) game.
I've been enjoying playing games from these devs, they're well made, the devs are obviously huge cat fans and it really, really shows, especially with the way they incorporate their cats. It's so genuine and I love that!

Inmost
A puzzle platformer set in a decrepit world, where you can play as three different characters, with their own gameplay.
This one was interesting, it has a bit of a problem narratively speaking - especially at the end - but the story in itself is still pretty well done. I think it was a bit of a bad idea to show the whole story at the end, you pick up some clues here and there but I found some points should have been added during the game.
The differences between the three characters are enough to enjoy each gameplay and it was a nice break to change from the main one (the man) to the other two here and there.

Journey
An atmospheric adventure game, where you play a traveler going through the desert and up a mountain.
Such a timeless gem! I've been in love with this game ever since it came out in 2012, despite the fact that I couldn't buy it at the time. I remember watching a chill playthrough of it and it was such a nice experience, I'm glad I finally get to play it.
It's pretty rare that I find myself shedding a tear at the end of a game but I was bawling at this one, the sum of the gameplay, the story, the companion I met and the music was superb. The social aspect when you find someone else is really good too, the idea of having only one button to communicate was a great one.

What I started

Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth
Been wanting to play that game for a while, and I'm pretty sure I'll get the books once I'll be done with it!

Wilmot's Warehouse
Wilmot Works It Out got out and I took the opportunity to buy the bundle and start with the "first" game. Pretty fun inventory management game!

Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot
Bought it during Early Access and it got its 1.0 release this week, so I picked it back up. I love the pixel art so much.
