Video games log 008 (A bunch of little games and a looong one)
What I finished
A Shelter Full of Cats
Hidden object game with cats! I already said it but I love these devs. It's always lovely to play their games, and again, I love how they genuinely love cats! This game is as good as the others.
Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping
Duck Detective is back on a new case!
Like its predecessor, it's a nice game with a great story, good humor and interesting characters. Its gameplay is the same as the first game and it works well, so why change it? Hope to see that duck again in the future!
Is This Seat Taken?
Puzzle game where you place characters based on their demands!
I already talked about this game back in log 5 when its demo was out, and the whole game didn't disappoint! Loved the gameplay, the story and the visuals.
Mosaic of The Pharaohs
Minesweeper-like game where you uncover parts of a "painting", like the game Proverbs that I talked about in an earlier post. Pretty fun!
How Fish Is Made
Little game from the devs of Mouthwashing, walking sim where you play a fish. Pretty short piece, the highlight is the little show with the parasite. There is an expansion with a katamari-like gameplay, which is basically an ad for Mouthwash. It was an okay game.
Strange Jigsaws
It's a game about jigsaws. They are strange. From the dev who made 20 Small Mazes!
Really good game! And can be beaten in a matter of a few hours, depending on how used one can be doing jigsaws and puzzles. The last puzzle is adorable!
Persona 5 Royal
RPG meets high schoolers meets thieves
I had this one in my backlog for a WHILE, started it back in april and finally finished it today. Yay!
As usual with Persona/SMT games, it's a long one, and the added ending part of the royal version made me feel it was even too long for its sake. I didn't really like the last palace and its theme after the climax of the normal ending. But my feelings about the end aside, it's a really neat game with an interesting setting and pretty cool characters. There are some really nice twists and I found myself enjoying some characters I didn't like in the normal game.
(Also Morgana is bae)
Demos
Capy Castaway
Cute game where you control a capybarra and a crow.
Hope they change the camera a bit, it felt a bit claustrophobic? But otherwise it was pretty cool once I got used to the controls. Love the visuals and npcs!
Woodo
Place pieces in 3D dioramas to advance the story!
Absolutely gorgeous game, the woody aspect of those dioramas give them a really nice touch that makes you almost feel the texture under your fingers. Can't wait to see the final game!
