Video games log 011 (Points and clicks, gravity and a fox fixin' stuff)

Guys I love my point and click games so much

What I finished

Samorost 1 - 2 - 3

Point and click adventures set in a weird world of whimsical little planets!
Started the first world in 3, then decided to play the first two before I continued.
The first game, which is free on Steam, is a really short story of 15min, but still really fun! And it gives a good idea of the series, even if, obviously, the sequels get both better. The second is about an hour long and is pretty good as well, where you have to go save your dog who has been kidnapped by aliens. And the third is obviously the best one: a more elaborate story, more planets, a lovely gameplay with the trumpet and what it can do with the environnement. The art is incredibly charming. I had a great time playing these games.
They all have a killer soundtrack too!
I'm not surprised I enjoyed them that much, as I already played another game from Amanita and loved it (Chuchel! Which is really funny, do recommend as well!)

Tangle Tower

Point and click investigation!
Really cool game! Loved the art direction between the locations, the characters and the clues. The story was interesting, as were the characters too. There was a humor that worked really well with me as well. Highly recommend it!

Out of Sight

Hidden object game
Pretty short and free! If you like that kind of games, it's a nice one. I do have a negative point though, the view often gets obstructed by big objects if you're zoomed in.

Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop

Roguelite/mechanics simulation game, set in a space sci-fi world with some god stuff going on!
This game is so good! But I'd say only if you like the repetitiveness of a sim game, otherwise I'm not sure I could recommend it. But that game oozes with style and cool concepts, be it for the characters or the world in itself.
The manual is really well done and quick to peruse ; some instructions might be a bit opaque compared to others, but there is always a logic to it. I genuinely love this book and almost wish we could get it as an actual one. As for the tasks you have to do, there is a physicality in the actions you do that is really nice, like I loved opening stuff with the screwdriver, weld broken stuff or making pancakes (not actual pancakes).
Anyway tl:dr this game and its fox dude are my babes and you should definitely try it!

VVVVVV

Pixel platformer with gravity gameplay!
This one was in my backlog since basically forever. It's a cult game, and I've enjoyed quite a few other games from his developer, Terry Cavanagh, like Super Hexagon and Dicey Dungeons, so I had to play it at some point.
Pretty difficult! I won't lie that I used the invincibility feature on a couple of rooms because I kept missing the beat and died a lot. There is quite a lot of accessibility options, which is really cool for people who would like to discover the world of that game. The OST is a banger and the characters are cute. I really enjoyed the main mechanism of the game and its variations, and the overall way to transverse and discover parts of the map. Pretty fun!
