Video games log 015 (Poco is best clown)
(I really need to stop playing incremental games)
Ultrakill (from Violence 7-1 up to Fraud 8-4)
why the fuck is this game so good
I suck at FPS pretty bad but it makes me want to get better at it, and really few games make me want to spend time doing that. So yeah, it's great. The Violence layer has awesome aesthetics and enemies. Fraud is an incredible chapter and no wonder it took some time to develop, some of the ideas in there are out of this world.
Scritchy Scratchy
Incremental scratch ticket game
Pretty cool! I liked the different types of tickets, and the prestige system was useful enough to feel the progress. The end was fun!
Thank Goodness You're Here!
British adventure game
I played the demo during an old steam next fest and loved it, so I of course absolutely enjoyed the whole game! The art is great, the humor is perfect and the game is long enough to appreciate everything but short enough not to overstay its welcome.
(Also, not to spoil anything, but if you think about (not) doing one specific thing at the start of the game, yes you can; i laughed when it actually worked.)
Unboxathon
Incremental unboxing game
Cute game but a bit bare gameplay wise and has some UI bugs. But it was okay for what it was!
Loot Loop
Incremental JRPG
Pretty cute game, liked the visuals, the gameplay was simple but still engaging for an half idle incremental, and it's long enough to appreciate it and not too long for it to get boring.
Fishing Inc
Incremental fishing game
Yet another one of those! This one was pretty chill. A bit forgettable tho. I did feel like I'm about to be done with that kind of games for a long while with that one. But that's on me, it's still well done.
Poco
Point and click! A little clown gets booted out of his circus and tries to get back by helping people around.
This game is such a little gem! Everything is so well made, from the art style, to the characters (Poco has a hat with a bell and it JINGLES when you move, it's adorable), music and puzzles you find in that kind of game, it's great. And it's free! Please pick it up, it's a 3h long or so game and it's delightful!
Kabuto Park
Cute bug collection/fighting game!
Absolutely adorable! The game isn't really hard - aside maybe the catching mechanics but even then, its difficulty is appropriate for kids - but it's a nice chill moment to play, with cool kids and cute bugs. The fighting mechanics are simple but work pretty well. The art style is really sweet, and, minor thing, but I really enjoyed moving the cursor/hand in the menus.
